Overlooking the tree-lined hillside surrounding Font-Romeu, the Calvaire is a charming spot to enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of our dear Cerdagne. Just below you will find the Hermitage Chapel. A new sculpture has recently been erected by the entrance. It is a magnificent artwork by Philippe Lavaill, a well-known "Dalinian" artist. It is structured in the form of a cross with a young woman carrying a jug of water in its centre. It embodies the origins of Font-Romeu, which means "Pilgrim's Fountain" in Catalan.
