This abbey is an important monument of Catalan history. In a valley located at the heart of the Romanesque Conflent region, at the foot of the Mount Canigou, the Abbey of Saint Martin is an outstanding architectural monument. It has a large 10th century pre Romanesque church, a Lombard bell-tower and vestiges of a carved 12th century Romanesque cloister.
